Taylor Swift Released 10th Album Midnights, Are You Ready For It?

After sipped away from her last two albums and burning Red in Taylor’s version, Taylor Swift surprised us with her sleepless night new album Midnights, which arrives on Oct.21, prevailing more personal subject throughout scattered life.


"The stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life. This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams, when the clock strikes twelve… we'll meet ourselves." Swift wrote.


The journey of sleepless night seems just began as she was catching up to her devotion fans to stay up all night waiting for new clues through Swift TikTok. On Sep.16, Swift posted a TikTok, gave a bunch of hints about the album's production.


The clips in the video include shots of Swift at the keyboard, recording vocals, spending some quality time with her cat Benjamin and wandering through a snow storm. But the clips also reveal a glimpse of producer Jack Antonoff, seemingly confirming that he is again serving as producer on Swift's album.


A week after (at midnight of course), Swift posted another TikTok from a series called “Midnights Mayhem With Me,” revealing track listing one by one, one day at a time. She chose to reveal that track name with a Bingo cage, each one printed with a difference song title.


Thus, on Oct.12. Swift not just revealing one song, but all five of the remaining track titles, one per hour until reached a twisting finale at 4 a.m. ET. Which the very last track reveal as she captioned “Quite the twist of an ending” as unveil a collaboration with Lana Del Rey.


The singer/songwriter has taken time to revealed the stories behind her first track “Lavender Haze,” that would address her six-year relationship with “London Boy” Joe Alwyn.


“I happened upon the phrase 'lavender haze' when I was watching Mad Men. I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool. And it turns out that it’s a common phrase used in the ’50s where they would describe being in love. If you in the ‘lavender haze,’ then that meant you were in that all-encompassing love glow. And I thought that was really beautiful.” She said.

She also brought up how to deal with social media era that if the world finds out you’re in love with somebody, they’re going to weigh in on it. As she quotes “Like my relationship for six years we’ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff, and we just ignore it. So this song is about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.”


Not just that, Swift also shared a behind the sing on Instagram of track 3, "Anti-Hero," which she talked about the intimate nature of the song, as she considers to be one of her favorites that she's ever written.

“This song is a real guided tour throughout all the things that I tend to hate about myself. We all hate things about ourselves, and it’s all of those aspects of the things we dislike and like about ourselves that we have to come to terms with if we’re going to be this person. So, yeah, I like ‘Anti-Hero’ a lot because I think it’s really honest.” She said.

She'll be releasing three bonus tracks with the Target edition of her album, the songs included are new track “Hits Different,” a string remix of “You're on Your Own, Kid,” and a piano remix of “Sweet Nothing.”
